( If there is such a thing as climate changer )

Lol

Like all modern scourges, there are two conflicting worldviews on the subject. One from the Left, and one from the Right.

With COVID, the Left were quick to dismiss the probability of a Wuham Lab leak, as "conspiracy theory", attempts to impose travel bans, as "misogynistic" and "racism", with a refusal to question their misguided trust in the unholy alliance between the U.S. Health Agencies and their funding of their established biological research partnerships with the Chinese Communists, the great enemy of democracy!  :)

They were happy to shut down capitalism, schools, invoke draconian human rights and impose censorship of Free Speech on all dissenting opinions.

With so-called climate change, they seek to rinse and repeat.

While "wildfires" a natural phenomena of the life cycle of forests, they are quick to blame Fossil Fuels,  even blame my annual airflight to Canada, but reluctant to  recognize other causes. Namely:

"Though they are classified by the Environmental Protection Agency as natural disasters, only 10 to 15 percent of wildfires occur on their own in nature. The other 85 to 90 percent result from human causes, including unattended camp and debris fires, discarded cigarettes, and arson.Dec 5, 2019

All the recent wildfires in California, Canada and Greece have been connected to willful arson, on the the part of certain criminal and other misguided individuals, who are not content to wait much longer for the Catastrophic holocaust that they are convinced is killing the planet.

They just want to "raise awareness" by giving it a head start.  :)

"Friends of The Earth"?  :)

...(followed by 668 words on lefties and the cause of the fires)...

Most know that after the initial setting of a fire, a continuous supply of combustible material is needed.

The vast majority of these fire burn out naturally or are put out easily due to the lack of combustible material

The weather around the Med has made more of this materials combustible and created 'firestorms' which are proving more difficult to put out permanently. The continuing weather around the Med has provided no respite or opportunity to get ahead of the fires.

If these record  weather patterns become the norm then these types of intense long lasting fire will become the norm and as a result will have to be dealt with, no matter how they, or what changing weather patterns are called or if the fire fighters are left or right or the cost.

I agree with much of what you say, but, in actual fact, the authoritarian Left wanted travel bans as much, or possibly even more, than the freedom loving Right.

That said, travel bans achieved sod all, other than in NZ at the time (though they have rather paid for it since).

When you can find a quote/source of a person saying that you should and place it on your screen, it will remind you that you should not post things without checking.

Quote Frome the BBC news website - "Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has ordered a review of low traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs), saying that he is on the side of drivers."

Playing at politics instead of helping climate change. He isn't sorting out the unfairness of the ULEZ expansion, he is playing politics.

Exactly what some of us predicted after the Tories poor election results.    He's actually on the side of more votes.

He's quite happy about throwing his closely held beliefs out of the window if it will gain him a few more votes.  No principles as always.

This puts Starmer into the spotlight because he'll not be able to sit on the fence forever,  as is his usual tactic.  Which way will he jump,  Green or Scared Yellow ?

I don't think the words politicians,  and  principals,  go together any more.

The Tories are ruthless tricksters whose only concern is power at any cost. If they can hang on for another 12 months they will have set Labour up to fail. Trouble is you have to fight fire with fire but Labour does not play dirty so is always going to be at a disadvantage. Labour will have an awful lot to put right, and a lot of it will not be popular. Conservatives will promise the earth: (Levelling up?) but not deliver.
