Consider this then, have you and your fellow construction workers, seen pay rises to match the cost of housing prices ?????? Of course you haven't. You've been nobbled and you don't even know it. There are many more facets to construction than housebuilding, most new housing projects pay decent wages if you're the type of worker who is prepared to scrimp on quality for the sake of quantity, decent tradesmen steer well clear of this work. But still need to stand on those at the bottom and keep them poor, to earn a decent wage ??????
Chekhov
I have heard that the working classes in particular are sick to death of people trying to tell them how to live their lives, and the middle classes are the biggest culprits. So, the word has it, they are thinking of starting a campaign "just stop olive oil"...... 1

El Cid
A former Conservative environment secretary has revealed she failed to declare tens of thousands of pounds of shares she held in oil giant Shell while in the role. Tory MP Theresa Villiers said she had held a stake in the firm worth over £70,000 since February 2018. But she only declared it last month along with similar holdings in drinks giant Diageo and finance firm Experian. Like you would just forget about £70k worth of shares. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-66469317

Chekhov
SHOCKING.... The Times 14 Aug 23 (p8) Parties urged not to fight over climate change action A government adviser and former Shell economist [Steven Fries] has warned politicians against making climate change action into a "wedge issue". "The UK has done a very good job in keeping climate change and decarbonisation to be[ing] a cross party issue. It's very important that all political parties in the UK and elsewhere resist going down the path of turning this into a wedge issue or a divisive issue for society". Does this idiot know the meaning of the word democracy, because make no mistake he is openly suggesting the political parties should collude and not give the population of this country, or any other country, any say in a major issue which will significantly affect how they live their lives. Utterly outrageous.

trastrick
With limited time remaining for life as we know it, it is important that we keep a weather eye open for the imminent catastrophic man made global warming. Here's the latest monthly (July) observations from NASA and NOAA's 44 year satellite record: Earth's Average Temperature Arctic Ice Extent Antarctic Ice Extent
