El Cid
Why are you constantly bringing Donald Trump into this ? The same type of person does seem to think along the same lines, just like others talk about lefties, snowflakes or right-wingers.
ads36
There wasn't even a pause in warming. We can only talk about a 'pause' if we start the clock at 1997. One single year simply isn't a climate benchmark. We need a few years (5? 10?) to get an average. Do that, and any pause disappears. 2018 isn't going to be the warmest year on record, does that mean we're in another pause? No, see above. Also, most importantly, let's not confuse temperature, and heat...
Bargepole23
Why are you constantly bringing Donald Trump into this ? Because his policies, with regard to emissions, fracking, coal fired power stations etc, can have a significant and detrimental effect on the environment we live in. El Cid
Fran Unsworth, the Director of BBC News, has issued new guidance to BBC journalists on how best to report climate change. They have been told that they no longer need to include contrarians like Nigel Lawson in any discussion on the subject and that the science does not need to be constantly challenged. This news was welcomed by climate change campaigners who have long criticized the approach traditionally adopted by the BBC. It's like the coverage of a moon landing or the collapse of the twin towers on the 9/11, it would be wrong to have someone on a TV program every time saying that the moon landing etc. was faked. No more Nigel Lawson, a non-expert on climate change. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/sep/07/bbc-we-get-climate-change-coverage-wrong-too-often

El Cid
Should all discussion stop? The BBC are saying that a non-scientist is the wrong person to question climate change. Multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals1 show that 97% or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree*: Climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities. In addition, most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position. The following is a partial list of these organizations, along with links to their published statements and a selection of related resources. https://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/

If you don't accept the science of decreased snow cover, shrinking ice sheets and glacial retreat resulting in rising sea levels, what else do you not believe the science of?
