The Royal Family Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I participated in a local community event yesterday.

It was a wonderful get together of friends and strangers.

The monarchy was mostly irrelevant, other than being the catalyst for an occasion that was once part of the fabric of society.

Let's hope that we learn how much enjoyment can be had from such all-age socialisation.

No, sadly Jeremy forgot to post my invite, so I had to watch a bit of that dirge and drivel that was the Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen.

Is it just me, that thinks it represented everything that's wrong with the Church of England? Slow, miserable, long-winded and pompous; that parade alone of the church worthies in their finest went on forever.  What church needs that many chiefs when it's got hardly any Indians. I turned it off after half an hour, it just made me want to slit my wrists.

Where was the joy, the feeling of commmunity and coming together, something to lift the spirits? No wonder the Queen did a no show. The woman has some sense; probably sat at home with a gin and tonic happilly watching the racing;...

I've a nice collection of 'Straight Razors'.

(Sorry Anna - just couldn't resist 🤣 🤣 . Keep safe  )

Exactly. A great excuse for a party or get together, nothing the matter with that.

Don't forget somebody has to take the bull by the horns and organise it all, and hope it's a success. That takes nerve these days with so many nay-sayers about. So well done to them.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Also, kinda reminds me of the media in our country regarding Royalty, where only positive views are allowed to be expressed. To the extent that you'd almost think everyone in our country is pro-Royal!

I think most people are pro Royalty even if it is only because it gives some people something to moan about.

Have a word with yourself

To be fair I feel sorry for the Queen with what she has to put up with,  Phillips womanising, the Charles and Di divorce episode, Edward giving up the Marines training to become a Ballerina and of course not to forget Andrew the Perv.  If that lot followed Harry and dissapeared to live in America and William to become King then you would not here speak of the Embarrasing lot again, and I would be a Royalist.

Utter nonsense.

Your in perment denial, a bad trait to have,  the whole  country knows Johnson is a barefaced liar the same as Andrew, the most disturbing part is, you know too, medically that worries me.
