choogling
The CPS have paid Mr Gambaccini damages as a consequence of the statement they made. Clearly the statement they made was far from good enough. I think they were judged on their action or in-action in handling the case.
Halibut
I'm pleased for Paul Gambaccini but what's common sense strikes back? Yeah K1, what's common sense got to do with it?

Clearly the statement they made was far from good enough. No they haven't. They have paid him damages for taking over a year to investigate a matter that should have been concluded in weeks. alchresearch
"There was no greater defender of the BBC than me," he told the paper, "but they never tried to make it up to me after I was cleared". Mr Gambaccini said he now had "no relationship" with the BBC other than turning up to host his Radio 2 shows. Really sad to see this from such a great presenter. But they treated Tony Blackburn the same way. R2 management really is the pits at the moment.
