Extra energy gone bust .....

Recommended Posts

Anybody got any ideas who to switch to now that ExtraEnergy & several others have gone under?         They say it's because they can't afford the Green Tax,    so does that mean that all except the biggest companies will go bust as well?

The collapse of Extra follows the failures of Future Energy, Iresa Energy, Gen4U and Usio Energy who have all gone bust in 2018.

The market has been hit by stinging regulation, including a government-enforced price cap on standard variable tariffs (SVTs) amid anger over rising bills.

It seems the price cap is having negative consequences.

Hasn't Spark Energy gone as well?

Yes,  Spark's gone,     all the small unheard of outfits mostly.        I don't want to make the same mistake twice,  but the Big Six have got us over a barrel.

Spark customers have been moved over to OVO I think

Whoever they are .           Extra's customers are being taken on by Scottish Power & they haven't got a great reputation.       At least if they're taking on new customers they must be confident of not going bust themselves.            It's a lottery.
