nick2
Wouldn't it be better to try and discourage them from coming in the house rather than killing them ?

nick2
Some powder acts like tiny sharp razors. They are attracted to the powder. The powder coats their bodies and gets inbetween the joins on their vertebrae. Nuff said. Ants don't have vertebrae, as they don't have a skeleton. bigflesh
destroy the trails and remove stuff that scout ants could find and report back as 'good' on. Raid (spray) for ants does the job well on ant trails. Seems to kill ants which are using the trail and its alcohol base removes sensory traces of the track. bigflesh
Wouldn't it be better to try and discourage them from coming in the house rather than killing them ? "No ants, not in this house, go next door!" Stuff
Wouldn't it be better to try and discourage them from coming in the house rather than killing them ? Well, I'll try and put a sign up saying "Ants not welcome", but I can't see it working... Thanks for all the reponses... gonna be slaughtering a few tonight!! hels1977
Wouldn't it be better to try and discourage them from coming in the house rather than killing them ? Yep it most definately would. I guess I missed that bit out, much better advice. Certainly removing their trails, cleaning up any food bits etc is the first place to start as with any unwelcome guest. I guess I'm just not a huge ant fan
