This Brexit thing just keeps getting better

doesn't it?

This thread shows EVERYTHING thats wrong with brexit Oo

no thinking, no facts, just shrugging of shoulders and being happy about something not quite as bad as it could be despite us already enjoying its benefits but will get slightly reduced benefit of it.

A serious question for Brexiteers.

Two incredibly significant things happened this week. Barclays relocated BILLIONS of dollars out of the UK to protect it from the effects of a no deal Brexit and Nissan announced that they will not be making their new SUV in Sunderland where the first Leave vote was announced in 2016.

How much longer are you going to be shouting 'Project Fear' at every bit of Brexit related news? It is starting to make you all look very silly.

Do you think Nissan would have built the Sunderland factory, if they had a partnership  like they do now with Renault?  Do you believe Brexit is the reason why Jamie Oliver closed a chain of his restaurants?

Nothing stays the same for ever and commercial decisions will be made regardless of Brexit.

Commercial decisions are made by hard headed businessmen, with no loyalty to a particular area or country.

It’s true that nothing  stays the same forever, but we have been able to position ourselves in recent years as a contender for any multinational, whether it be a manufacturer or a financial institution who wants a presence in Europe and this would have continued but for the threat of a hard or no deal Brexit.

We have the skills, stability and at times had government backing to encourage this inward investment.

This is in the process of being ripped apart and you dismiss it as an inevitability regardless of Brexit.

Some multinationals will linger on for a while because of the investment already made.

However their strategic planning for years into the future is being discussed today and we are hell bent on making the U.K. a back marker in the competition.

P.S. You forgot to give the Brexit positives.

Given that this thread be's renewed when it gets to around 5000 posts and we are into 2K in part 6 that is about 27,000 replies and I haven't actually seen any Brexit positives posted here at all.

That pretty much trashes the whole 'leaving the EU is a good idea' theory.

Philips Electronics closed a factory in England last year. They said it wasn’t because of Brexit in UK press releases. The CEO just came out to say it was because of Brexit - ‘it made the decision a lot easier ‘.

They're saying others will be closing if they don't get FoM for goods:

The one thing that reassures me is that all those people who voted Leave were well aware of the issues that have since come to light. All the promises that were made by those pushing for a Leave vote were just so much distraction to hide all the really positive things which were to be revealed only after we left the EU.

I'm looking forward to wiping the egg off my face when it transpires that the Leave voters were right that all will be unicorns and rainbows.

Which consists of about 10 members with fixed, opposite opinions, saying the same thing over and over.
