Complete over the top response from Brum council and the plod. The message here folks  is,  if you dont tow the PC party line , then we will try and silence you with threats of prison and fines.

You do realize those protesting outside the Birmingham school don't just object to the mention of same sex couples. They are protesting about mention of children born to unmarried heterosexual parents and the implication that sex outside marriage is acceptable as well.

That's a refreshing change, you're usually in favour of water cannon and other reactionary methods!

The number of people that are protesting about the mere mentioning of the existence of LGB people in primary schools is fractional though.

However, on reflection I think your broader point is correct. The issue is going to have to be resolved one way or another. As I understand it the Education Secretary contradicted Esther McVey's point that the choice should remain with parents.

I agree. I certainly wouldn't take a hit for Esther McVey or anyone that regarded the very core of my being as being 'inferior' or 'immoral'.

There was an interview on BBC Breakfast this morning with the Headteacher & also former CPS prosecuter, Nazir Afzal, and who has been mediating in Birmingham primary school dispute.

Both were saddened that it has had to result in a court order banning protesters from outside the school in order to protect parents & children as well as banning anyone making derogatory comments and / or threats on social media.  According to the Headteacher, the social media aspect was broken within hours of the court order, so that will be interesting to see what will happen?

Mr. Afsal has been mediating with a large number of parents & the Headteacher & said that once they were talking one on one, the parents had a greater understanding of the subject & were more accepting.

The main problem was apparently a number of parents are being cowed by 'outside' forces; individuals who neither live in the local community or are parents with any children at the primary school.

No, the message here is our children have a right to go to school in peace without being harassed by a group of religious extremists attempting to disrupt their schooling!

You can equally argue that our children have a right to go to school without being force fed  Religion,   Political correctness and sexuality.

They are not being force fed anything. They are being taught to be inclusive and tolerant of others.

Yes they are, because the school is using lessons to teach this stuff. The children dont have a choice when they have a teacher preaching this stuff at them. schools are for giving kids the qualifications they need to get a job and get on in life .

You usually want protesters shot at dawn.

What makes you you so keen to take their side this time.

Was it tricky deciding whether to hate the Muslims, or the Leftie gay traitor teachers?
