Tomm06
I believe size and numbers can often play a vital role. Many animals will shy away or run from a predator larger than its self unless it thinks it absolutely needs to fight. Which is why smaller animals brought up in the company of humans are mostly easy going coming in to contact with us

I know puppies who have grown up with cats, and kittens who have grown up with small rodents and have none of the cat/dog or cat/mouse issues. Longcol
On 10/04/2019 at 21:49, Yeah but said: I know that wild animals do come near people as has been pointed out on this thread but in the main animals are irrationally shy of humans and, quite unwisely in the case of the Blackbird on my garden, relaxed near my dog. Probably knows your dog can't fly or use a gun 😎
