The Brexit Party thread. All brexit party discussion here please.

A couple of points for you to take note of.

We expect it to remain civil and within our usual forum rules.

As this is about an election the following will apply

Here at SF we try to ensure fair play, and that includes during elections. We don't allow links direct to political party websites or to sites that spread spurious stories for political influence at any time, and that will continue. We also ask candidates and those campaigning for political parties to follow our code of conduct in the run up to elections. In order to not provide any influence unfairly to any side, we ask that those who are standing or who represent a party refrain from posting in threads to do with political discussion or elections during the 4 week run up to the vote.

It's  mandatory and your account will be suspended if you don't do it.

If you have any questions please take them to the helpdesk rather than starting threads attacking the forum team. If you do that then your account will be suspended.

There would be something wrong if the money was coming from unknown and unverified foreign sources.

Obviously that could be facilitated by exploiting a legal loophole but nonetheless it does nothing for democracy does it.

You mean like the remain funding coming from Soros and his donations through Lord Malloch-Brown,  made a peer by Goldshieder Brown, no wonder owd gorgon is complaining about Brexit Party funding.

No not like that. We know where that money comes from. That’s the difference.

But your point is fair, in general do we really want our politics influenced by foreign money.

This big excitement from brextremists about a massive win is confusing me. What will actually change? the tories will still be in charge of us after a EU vote? There still wont be a brexit unless OUR government want it??

The tories will **** themselves and push forward a hardcore brexiteer like Boris to lead them to keep their seats. They may even welcome farage into fold - that’s what he really really wants - or even negotiations.

Remember why we are in this mess. The referendum wasn’t given to give the little people a say on Europe or send the foreigners home, it was to kill off UKIP who were taking away Tory votes which - to a   point - it did. I saw a snippet on the news the other day and ex-tories were going to farage en mass. Give them a tub thumping racist to get behind like Boris instead of May and they’ll head back but a vote for the brexit party tells the tories what they want.

A 'massive win' is an interesting prediction for a party that is unlikely to achieve more than 35% of the vote.

and even taking out the big parties (Labour and Tories) who in theory are "leave" parties that still leaves 3 sets of leave parties to vote for which i keep saying cuts down the win margin for each one.

Come off it. I don't want it to happen as much as you, but 35% of the vote for a brand new party in the EU election would be a massive win.

No party has received more than 35% of the vote in since 1994.

What would it show other than Farage can gather most of the Brexit supporters under one umbrella on a one issue election campaign?

It doesn't alter the fact that the majority of the population do not want to leave the EU.

And? The same could be said for any election. It's the gathering of support that matters, whether they make it about one issue or many. You could equally dismiss any election result with that reasoning. 'Oh yes they won, but it doesn't mean anything because all they did was gather support around the election issue..'
