Who next for Tory Leader/PM?

As we've previously stated, Boris is a divisive bloke, you either love him or hate him, but the fact is, there seems to be more people love him than hate him and he draws support across the board.

But given his minority government, not enough to get things done. He’s going to bin the backstop. Terrific. How, and more importantly, who, is he going to **** off with his solution?

That's actually a good point, the tories are getting panned in the polls but labour should be doing so much better. Boris and Corbyn at the dispatch box would be a scream. Boris talking in latin whilst Corbyn talking about Maria from Macclesfield whose bins aren't getting emptied on time.

Why will he be talking in latin?

There are two very important things which Boris Johnson needs to consider if he is serious about becoming PM whose only real job will be sorting out the mess that is Brexit.

1. The UK has virtually no bargaining power with the EU. Triggering Article 50 was the economic equivalent of shooting yourself in the head. Once you have done that you basically have to take what you're given as Theresa May found out very quickly. Johnson can do what he likes with the backstop but you only have to see how the EU has stood four square behind Ireland to know that that ain't going to change.

2. The maths won't change. The DUP won't go anywhere near a no deal as that will destroy their beloved union and although the crackpot wing of the party will have a champion in Johnson, they still don't have the numbers. He will also be governing with even less of a majority than May had, given that Soubrey, Woolaston and Heidi Allen are now officially part of the opposition dropping their numbers effectively by six.

3. Johnson is not particularly liked by Conservative MPs. If he just scrapes through the initial MPs vote then wins on a landslide with the members, he will need to be very much under manners in Parliament. Parliament took Brexit out of Teresa May's hands and will do the same with Johnson if he starts twatting about.

To be honest, I really can't see why he's standing at this time unless 'becoming PM' is just a thing on his bucket list. He also has no real principles and may simply be flattered by being made favourite. I'm moving closer to those who actively want to see Johnson elected leader as a way to hasten the self-destruction  of the Tory party.

Without the backstop, the DUP come back on board and he'll have a majority.

But members of his party might not like it. A hard border? That won't go down well. Border in the Irish sea? That won't go down well either - certainly not with the DUP.

I've given it a bit of thought, picking a new leader prior to another election is just pushing chairs round the deck of titanic. Nothing will change, the ship will keep sinking.

He’s an idiot - bright, educated, bit of charisma - but an idiot.

i wouldn’t trust him to walk my dog never mind run the country.

anyone who could vote for him needs their bumps felt.
