I’ve paid a solicitor in the past and spent a lot of time correcting their mistakes. When my Dad died, a few years ago, I administered the estate myself. It was very easy to do and saved my family thousands of pounds. You don't have to do it through solicitors. You'll possibly pay more if you do. I've moved houses about 10 times in the past 30 years and always used the same firm of licensed conveyancers, they've been fast, efficient and far less expensive than solicitors. It's "what they do" for a living - they are specialists in conveyancing. They are based in Chesterfield but serve the whole country.
