LGBT education puts young at higher risk of grooming according to C of E Vicar

It's not the teaching of sexuality per se, but the existence of different family structures. This is encompassed by the Government's desire to teach what they call 'British Values' (tolerance, compassion, rule of law etc).

The 'state' doesn't need to teach about straight sexuality or relationships or family structures. They're ubiquitous. It's simply teaching, in an age appropriate way, the facts of life. Simple as that.

And the tide is turning against the view that homosexuality is immoral or unnatural.

I'd like to hope that was the case, but the recent homophobic attacks this week makes for very upsetting reading.

Following these attacks (especially the London one as it was done by very young males), it leads me to conclude there is very much a need for LGBT education in schools.

Anything that can be done to prevent these sort of attacks should be done.

Allowing parents with objections to opt their children out of LGBT lessons is the only feasible solution to this.

I wonder if as a child you felt yourself attracted to a member of the same sex but was constantly told that if you ever had such thoughts then your head would explode and you were consequently so frightened, isolated and ashamed that you were thinking of taking your own life, whether you would feel the way you do.
