Almost every comedian in the 70s made what would now be regarded as racist jokes, you can include comedians like Charlie Williams and later Lenny Henry too, get some perspective !

Why do those two give perspective?

Did they join Marti in the telling **** jokes club?

The BBC obviously didn't think that Jo Brands comment was offensive, the programme is prerecorded and edited to fit into the timeslot. The editors must have thought it was OK to leave in.

Some people in society really need to get a life and stop being " offended " every time someone says something controversial  .

These all offend me.  I believe the grapevine article about stringing barbed wire across cycle routes has now been reported to the police

Free speech

Perhaps 'free speech' is just a generic title but that within it there are cases which are hate speech. It is not stated anywhere (so far as I know), that ALL examples of free speech  can be freely uttered and without redress even if they come under the general heading of "free speech." Nothing is 100% perfect.

Danny Baker and Jo Brand were treated using different standards. It was hypocritical.

Danny Baker wasn't being racist imo, I saw his tweet and my first instinct was never to link a picture of a monkey to race.

Strange how all the outraged people seem to be so ready to link a monkey to race. That speaks volumes to me.

Jo Brand made a crappy comment imo, but my opinion doesnt matter. She should be free to make any joke she wants in a free society.
