And what if she had a sash of explosives ?

I'd like to see Janet Barker properly interviewed & asked what she, (as she got closer to the top table the top table than the rest of the protesters), was actually going to do?

One thing that got me when watching the BBC report last night was how far it was from the front door of the Mansion House to the hall where the Chancellor's speech was taking place & about a dozen people, (men & women), can seemingly just walk right through to a major event without being challenged or asked for their invitation & then being allowed into a place where speeches are already taking place with high ranking London officials, the UK Chancellor & the Governor of the BoE?

Inside job?

Good job none of the Royals were present, Ms Barker might have found herself shot?

I wonder if Ms Barker is now prepared to have her private life scrutinised by the media?

I think she was just giving us an insight into the contempt that privilege and power have for anyone who dares to challenge it.

Working the doors and removing unwanted people from venues are different. You can block entry at the door, removing people who won't or don't want to leave necessitates some sort of man handling.

Why don't they just round all these luvvies up and send them to where the main world polluters are to demonstrate, like China and India.

We remove ‘unwanted people’ all the time. Gender doesn’t matter - threat level does and that is what dictates the response. This lady did not pose a threat, merely a nuisance. Any good doorman would have escorted her out in a humane manner, not in the way Field did, but by explaining she’d outstayed her welcome and a guiding hand in the back if required.

Whether she had any right to be there makes no difference

Of cause the fact she had no right to be there makes a difference.  A protester who trespassers can have no complaints if someone uses physical force to remove them. The woman wasn't hurt so Mr Field can't be accused of using too much physical force.

I'm afraid that wouldn't have worked amongst these people.

No I think Prescott was wrong too. I’m saying you can’t use what Prescott did to excuse Field. Big difference.

So assaulting females in ok in your world?

Sad

No "assault" took place. That's the big difference, as you say.

Prescott, who I've never liked, was "attacked" albeit with an egg. He reacted to something that actually happened to him rather than what might happen.

Quick query, if she was wearing a sash with BREXIT NOW written across it, would your views change? I asked penny but I never got an answer.

No, my view would remain the same.

Quick query, that the fool Prescott did have an egg hit him, does that absolve him from any action regarding physically assaulting the egg thrower. By your reply I can only assume you think so. A very strange opinion if you don't mind me saying.
