Consequences Of Brexit [Part 8] Read First Post Before Posting

Message added by Vaati

Mod Note: As we are getting rather tired of seeing reports about this. The use of the word Remoaners  is to cease. Either posts like adults, or don't post at all. The mod warnings have been clear.

In addition to remoaner we are also not going to allow the use of libdums or liebore - if you cannot behave like adults and post without recourse to these childish insults then please refrain from posting. If you have a problem with this then you all know where the helpdesk is.

The law, as it stands, is that the UK will leave the EU on the 31st of Oct. Prorogation of Parliament does not change that.

What law do you think he is trying to change?

I don't know. Thats why i asked the question. He's proroguing parliament for what reason?

Not to change the law.

I would imagine it's because it makes it more difficult to change the law. Seeing it is doesn't make it impossible, it's the very question I asked a while ago..

So why bother then? He's United the remainer cause to the point you've got ken Clarke and corbyn batting for the same team. People are on the streets. Surely he'd have been better off  not throwing a huge constitutional spanner in the works.

Boris is proroguing parliament so a new parliament session can begin and a new program of Government policies can be put to Parliament after the Queen's speech .  The session of Parliament that is going to be prorogued is the longest session for 400 years and couldn't last for ever.

So why is it much longer than normal?

To remove the rights of the elctorate to be represented by their MP.

Again, which views are the electorate unable to get represented in Parliament?

People's views on no deal have been subject of parliamentary debate numerous times.

And why should that matter.

Logically, completing Brexit is such a crucial thing that the current parliamentary session shouldn’t finish until that has been sorted by parliament

So, they are pretty much like a chunk of the electorate who didn’t/ couldn’t vote. You know, the ones that you include in your calculations

No, you are comparing apples and pears.

A person on the electoral register is at liberty to choose whether they vote or not. An elected representative who does not sit in the commons is not allowed to vote.
