Consequences Of Brexit [Part 8] Read First Post Before Posting

Message added by Vaati

Mod Note: As we are getting rather tired of seeing reports about this. The use of the word Remoaners  is to cease. Either posts like adults, or don't post at all. The mod warnings have been clear.

Message added by mort

In addition to remoaner we are also not going to allow the use of libdums or liebore - if you cannot behave like adults and post without recourse to these childish insults then please refrain from posting. If you have a problem with this then you all know where the helpdesk is.

Driver 'forced by Essex Police to remove Brexit slogan'

"Two anti-Brexit campaigners say they were pulled over on to the hard shoulder of the M25 and told by police to remove a slogan from their car. Passenger Peter Cook said the officer was "extremely aggressive" towards them over the phrase "(removed) to Brexit". "He said it [the slogan] was a public order offence, he insisted we remove the signage on the hard shoulder of the M25," said Mr Cook.

The police were concerned that an anti-democracy slogan used by affluent middle-class haters of the working class would likely cause alarm and distress to those who support democracy and freedom.

You should see if you can get a gig at the City Hall. I hear that the Last Laugh are recruiting.

Are you not even a teeny bit embarrassed about the side you are on? The Invisible Mogg. Ann Widdecombe. Coppers with too much time on their hands. Nigel Farage.

I’m sure that the young Boot would have despised all of those.

Still, let’s vote Boris and get done by Brexit

Embarrassed? Not a bit of it. He's pushing the Tory Manifesto now.

I see you're still using the Johnson / Cummings method for reporting the news ie making it up 😎

Of course, on planet Car Boot, no working class people voted remain at all - despite the majority of Labour voters backing remain.

To be fair many working class people have stopped voting Labour, it is now the party for middle class socialists, look at those striking University lecturers for example, I doubt that many of them are working class folk. Labour has in the last 20 years looked for votes from minority groups and die hard supporters of their socialist causes at the expense of the declining old traditional manual worker, indeed people like Emily Thornberry tried to demonise 'white van man' several years ago, so most of the working class Labourites now are those who will simply go and stick red rosettes on donkey types or those that are still bitter about Thatcher. I have to laugh when Corbyn still goes on about manufacturing, I have worked in that sector since leaving school in the 70s and never been any better off under Labour governments than Tory ones !

I know what you mean, I worked as a mechanical engineer for many years and found the same.

Although what I did find a lot of under the Tories were a lot of ex-miners were retrained in the steel industry in various roles - from basic packing, to machine operators, centre lathe turners, machine setters, even CNC programmers.  And although they spoke of the good times and camaraderie they had in the pits, not a single one of them would have gone back.

Funnily enough the tories are doing that now with Rich "white" men, Rees Mogg has been hidden away apparently and you see the black tories on tv interviews more in this campaign, ie:- Priti Patel and James Cleverly

Is rescue the right word? as I'm sure in the manifesto it states "covered."

Can you provide a link?  I can't see anywhere where it states the word rescued, but you've implied you are quoting something. What are you quoting?

This is what actually appears in the Tory election manifesto on Brexit:

"We aim to have  80 per cent of UK trade covered by free trade agreements within the next three years, starting with the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Japan."

You do realise that misrepresenting the facts around Leaving the EU proved disastrous for the Remain campaign and resulted in a majority voting to Leave?

Those who don't learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it.

I'm experimenting with pro-Leave style posting. What is sauce for the goose and all that.

Seems to work really well for them, and I can't remember it causing you lot any anxiety over the past 4 years?

It's very liberating too, just opinionating without having to post oodles of links all the time.

Maybe try get over it sometime. That's also pro-Leave style posting.

Ah. So you're experimenting with 'Project Fear' style posting.

You do know how that turned out, don't you?

Mogg, Patel and Cleverley are just several politicians not the millions of voters they traditionally represented, Labour was traditionally backed by working class 'white' men, they are the ones who generally have now rejected the party, any idea why mel ?
