Consequences Of Brexit [Part 8] Read First Post Before Posting

Message added by Vaati

Mod Note: As we are getting rather tired of seeing reports about this. The use of the word Remoaners  is to cease. Either posts like adults, or don't post at all. The mod warnings have been clear.

In addition to remoaner we are also not going to allow the use of libdums or liebore - if you cannot behave like adults and post without recourse to these childish insults then please refrain from posting. If you have a problem with this then you all know where the helpdesk is.

Well I thought BoJo's Tory leadership election campaign was a tribute to Madonna's "Blonde Ambition Tour".

The PM has said he will not ask for an extension the EU say they can only deal with an elected government. And the next government if it’s a conservative one and if they get a majority they will just repeal the law.

Democracy in action...

Right wing fascist dictator purges those who stand against him, is a racist, is a liar, is a cheat, is a bully and cannot be trusted - his name is Boris!

And he represents the brexiteers!

Polling by YouGov suggests there is - just - public support for new vote on Brexit

They had style, they had grace
Boris Johnson gave good face
Farage, François, Cummings too
Jacob Rees-Mogg, we love you
Tories with an attitude
Fellows that were in the mood
Don't just stand there, let's get to it
Strike a pose, there's nothing to it
Prorogue, prorogue

The Bill is getting filibustered in the House of lords right now. I wonder if they can keep it up so Boris can prorogue parliament.

And the government has just allowed a deliberate allowance of Kinnock's amendment  into the bill allowing Theresa Mays withdrawal agreement to be brought back which effectively rules out revoking article 50 and not allowing a second referendum. No wonder twitter is going mental.

Of course the Lords can strike out an accidental addition but it has to go to the Lords and back to house all of which takes time. And time is something that Bill does not have at the moment.

Well that all turned out nicely, didn’t it.

I make that Parliament 4 Johnson 0.

It is becoming a bit embarrassing really. It looks as though Johnson is going to actually do some work, rather than just shouting nonsense

Most, if not all EU nations believe that Brexit is now on its last legs and unlikely to happen.

It is in everyone’s interest (including the UK’s) to remain in the EU so why would any EU nation scupper any chance of that by forcing a no-deal exit?

It was reported last night that Finland’s Prime Minister, whose country currently holds the  Presidency of the EU,  stated  there isn’t widespread support within the  EU 27 to grant the UK  a further  extension.   Finland's Prime Minister said it doesn't make sense to continue to grant extensions which lead nowhere.
