Flanker7
The headlines, 5-3 to the Conservatives with 2 score draws. It was difficult today as many of the tops could be taken either way depending on your position. I balanced the 'i' with the 'The Times' as they were either side of the same coin. The Independant not on the Guardian list again. The i goes with “Corbyn closes on Johnson as race tightens” The Independant - "Child left waiting 57 hours for a bed in A&E. " The Mirror: “Johnson saw my son’s death not as a tragedy but as an opportunity”. The Guardian – “Our collective humanity is being put on trial” “most important election in a generation” The FT says Boris Johnson is “ready to shake up overseas aid” if the Conservatives win. The Telegraph declares Johnson would “get tough on serious criminals”. The Times - “Tory lead narrows ahead of final election rallies” The Mail really pours it on: “Britain’s future down to the wire”. The Express - Labour shadow minister said he “can’t stand” Jeremy Corbyn. The Sun officially endorses the PM: “Boris ticks all the boxes”. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/dec/11/wednesday-briefing-scramble-to-finish-line-in-final-day-of-campaign https://www.thepaperboy.com/uk/front-pages.cfm Edited December 11, 2019 by Flanker7 Tidying up

So my vote as useless as always. You're right I believe Ash. Even if the Conservative candidate in this seat was squeaky clean, they wouldn't get in. Apart from the huge traditional Labour vote, Brexit and Ukip are fielding candidates wich will split pro Brexit voters.

OK, I said useless, but meant almost useless. Can you both not see that if I lived in a different ward (Say Hallam as a good example which is a 3 horse race) - my vote IS worth placing if I prefer 1 of 3 parties. Now, there is so little chance of it happening, that general voters voting the same as they do every time, means that my vote is ALMOST useless. I’m probably going to vote for the candidate who will become MP, but my vote will almost certainly be for a member of the opposition, not the government Any vote, in isolation, is pretty useless. The aggregate of all the vote is what matters. And that is only possible if you, I and many others vote.
Anna B
This prophetic speech was given by Neil Kinnock, Labour Leader in 1983, warning people not to vote for Margaret Thatcher. How right he was, It was when the Tory party changed direction, and Neoliberalism took hold. How little has changed in the Conservative party since then. Just replace Thatcher's name with Johnson, and it could have been written yesterday... If Boris Johnson is re-elected as Prime Minister on Thursday, - I warn you not to be ordinary. - I warn you not to be young. - I warn you not to get ill. - I warn you not to grow old. . Full speech here. It just took a bit longer than Kinnock thought for the Neoliberals to get it all their own way. https://www.owen.org/blog/326/ Edited December 11, 2019 by Anna B

It seems so cruel that lickspittles from the gutter press, who haven't got a fraction of the talent that he has, dragged him through the muck on a daily basis in their mucky so-called 'newspapers'. I feel nothing but contempt for them. Edited December 11, 2019 by Mister M

Jeremy Corbyn isn't the first to suffer media anti-Labour propoganda, in fact they all have, except for LabourLite Blair.
