Message added by nikki-red

THIS IS NOT TO BECOME ANOTHER BREXIT OR GENERAL ELECTION THREAD.

THANK YOU.

Would party leaders be willing to take a lie detector test?

Lucky for the seriousness of politics, that people don't get to ask these cryptic/AND loaded questions. It's bad enough as it is with the rubbish that we've seen so far on the 1v1 thing.

It reminds me of the film Idiocracy, and the lie detector scene on the Simpsons :hihi:

Will you EVER answer a simple question with either yes or no? (Applies to all MPs)

Have you stopped beating up your partner, yes or no Zach? (one of these two options only, I will accept)

(imagine Paxman, when you try and say ANY other word than 'yes or no', and be pounded, with... It's a simple question Mr/or Ms Zach! YES OR NO, YES OR NO ...

this is how bad things have got when it comes to any kind of rational discourse.

And to stay on topic,

I would ask,

Which - if either of you - would reverse the ill-thought-out loophole ridden Taxi Regulation Act 2015, which left taxi drivers in ALL major cities* (in particular cities and towns in the 'north'),  with a loss of a reasonable livelihood, but protected London, by exempting itself from it, in case this obviously flawed bill went wrong... which it obviously did?

(looks good your employment stats though!)

*added info, main hits:

Birmingham

Manchester

Sheffield

Leeds

Newcastle

Bradford...

ALL councils with high requirement and expectations to both qualify to drive, AND to use a vehicle that they choose with limitation, and rigorous testing by said council.

Now some can drive to xyz, pay 500 quid, and be working in any of these cities in a week (potentially, though generally it's a bit longer)

.

To all four- after 10+ years of public service cuts, wage constraints and rising costs just how big is the sofa you’ve found all the promised money down the back of?

Perhaps you could take a look at my post (#539) in the 'General Election 12 December' thread in General Discussions.

Anyone going?

Hosted by Fiona Bruce in Sheffield, the Question Time special will go on air on BBC One at 7pm for two hours and you can watch it live online, too, and listen to it on the radio.

Each leader will take turns answering questions from the audience for 30 minutes, with Labour's Jeremy Corbyn going first.

The SNP's Nicola Sturgeon will go next, then Jo Swinson, leader of the Liberal Democrats, with Conservative leader Boris Johnson speaking last.

My question would be to Boris...

As a self confessed liar and cheat, and as a recognised sexist and misogynist, why do you think you are fit to lead the country?

Shouldn't the Prime Minister be a role model to the rest of the country?

This is taking place in Sheffield.

This is Sheffield Forum.

Why is this not in "Sheffield News & Discussions"?

Boris' magic money tree is infinite until it comes to delivery.

And then it is Brexit-shaped... i.e. full of promises and little substance
