Some good points, and you might learn why all this (in here too) has put the Tories in.

What good points should these be, then?

 

That anti-intellectualism could be overcome with empathy and fact-splaining?

 

That herd mentality could be stemmed with cold logic?

 

That conciliatory approach didn't work pre-referendum, hasn't worked since then, and there is not the least bit of suggestion that it will work anytime soon.

 

So you and Michael W and other assorted excuse-seeking posters will kindly excuse me if, now in the end, l'm having a good old laugh at the Xmas-voting turkeys as they file into the slaughterhouse, after so many others and I spent the better part of 3+ years patiently rinsing them in historical and legal facts, besides evidence-based consequences, many of which  have already come to pass.

 

The turkeys were, and evidently still are, tired of experts trying to explain Xmas to them. Well, Johnson and his festive diner friends can have their way with them now. They must know what they voted for : after all, they voted for Xmas not once, not twice, but thrice!

 

Those 50k nurses that Johnson promised? It's actually 31k (est.), they'll not be on station for another 10 years yet, and meanwhile the government hasn't got the first clue how it's going to replace the 19k nurses (est.) that have left, nor stem the ongoing tide of Brexoding EU27 NHS staff. All that, from a Tory Minister 3 weeks ago. And yet, 12 December came and went.

 

I'll never tire of saying it: you cannot help people, who refuse to help themselves. So now please Brexit at long last, carry your cross for a few years (in the hope that a living experience may open your eyes, if experts cannot), then let's reconsider once you've equipped yourselves with a functioning opposition and ditched the FPTP.

i would say that a country that allows minority groups to be heard as much as the majority  would be something to aspire to - not criticise.

What he is saying, is that in this election the minority groups - read far left Labour activists - have shouted so loud (especially on social media) they couldn't hear the majority so assumed they were the majority.

'depends on the UK' is highly inaccurate, since I brexoded precisely to sever that relationship, which was turning abusive. As you well know of course, and from a long date.

 

Much more accurate nowadays, would be to say that I "steal all the UK service business going due to Brexit uncertainty" 

 

It's very far from a relationship of dependency, as you can imagine: that business is leaving the UK regardless (Brexit outside EEA= zero market access for UK competitors), so it's just grabbing work, profits and jobs into the EU out of the UK early, in competition with fellow EU27 competitors all piling on that UK service business bonanza.

 

"Brexit dividend", I think some Tory Ministers called it. And thanks to voters, coming in still larger in 2020.
