Unfortunately, the Tories 'messing up' is going to hurt people so I hope you're wrong. I hope they've learned something, but I doubt it.

But they won, and I hope they make a good job, though I very much doubt it given their past record. Labour need a massive overhaul to get back in power, I'm a lifelong Socialist, but this must be the weakest Labour party I have ever known.. I'm afraid Jeremy wasn't good enough. Baron99
There's 1 seat yet to declare. Diane Abbott reckons there's still a chance.
dave_the_m
The tory vote was up by 1.2%, Brexit/UKIP total remained constant at 2%, while Labour fell by 7.8%. So it wasn't so much that the Tories did well, as it was Labour voters were voting "anyone but Labour" in droves.
jaffa1
Labour and Lib Dens got a bloody nose because they refused to listen to the majority of their voters, and in Parliament they still don't hear us, they are intent on working for their own wishes rather than the will of the people. Let's hope this teaches them a lesson. As for the Beast of Bolsover it's time he went he was too smug for his own good. Jo Swinson.? Arrh poor girl, didn't she realise when she did so well last time was because most of them were protest votes. iansheff
So now he is in with a massive majority the 20,000 police that were going to be recruited to get us back to 2010 levels can be scrapped, along with the 50,000 nurses and the 40 new hospitals. I find it hard to believe politicians as they make it up to suit themselves and rarely give a straight answer to a question but I wouldn't trust Johnson as far as I could throw him. The lib dems got around 1.3 million more votes than they did in 2017 so i'd say they did listen to the majority of their voters.
dave_the_m
Note also that a majority of the voting public voted for parties that were committed to Remain or to have a second referendum.
