I thought the ballot papers were issued by the government.

But the SNP isn't the government - they are a political party. In any case, the format of the ballot papers, and what they must contain, is laid down in the 'Representation Of The Peoples Act', as amended.

When I said Government I was referring to Parliament.  I had no idea tho who was responsible for the format of the ballot papers. So thanks for that.

Point of order: the  SNP has a majority in Holyrood and thus forms the Scottish government.

It’s all in the name: Union.

But unlike Brussels, Westminster gets to decide whether there is an Article 50 or not.

Currently, not.

They are the Devolved Administration in Scotland - true. Otherwise, they have the powers of a devolved administration, not full powers.

Exactly.

That Supreme Court judgement just proved -inasmuch as it needed to be proven- that Scotland is not sovereign, and cannot regain its sovereignty even if a majority of Scots wanted it back.

The Union is therefore, by that definition, not one of equals, but one of vassals to England.

Relative to 6 years ago, the boot is on the other foot. That is what makes this debate particularly interesting 😉
