After seeing him in his younger days as an aspiring presenter and personality i was more shocked when i found out he got married.

Doesn't change my opinion of him one iota - not that he probably cares and nor should he.

That strikes a chord. A bit like finding out Melvyn Hayes has three wives and six kids on his record.

I wouldn't feel I would have to 'come out' in fact I'd want to say mind your own business,  I don't tell everyone 'I'm heterosexual in case you didn't know -  there seems to be a pressure to come out why the need to tell people,  mostly strangers

Yes it was definitely a shock to me as well. Who'd have thought it ?

Why did it have to be a public event though ? " Look at me" !!!

You'd prefer the alternative of a tabloid 'finding out' about it and publicly outing him as if it was some big shameful secret he was trying to hide? (With attendant doorstepping of him, his relatives, etc.) This way it gets out there on Schofield's terms and not those of some grubby tabloid.

Fair enough, didn’t really spot it. Social media has got a bee in its bonnet, ranging from “he’s so inspirational” (I don’t get it, but still) to the “sack him” (don’t get that either).

Feel sorry for his missus though, must be rough on her.

You didn't spot it !!!
