This is an interesting graph, I am surprised that the UK is richer than Germany, if a little less happy.

As ever it all depends on how you measure things. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/richest-european-countries

https://www.statista.com/statistics/685925/gdp-of-european-countries/#:~:text=Germany's economy has consistently had,Italy in the late 1980s.

According to those links Germany is over $1 Trillion richer in terms of GDP.  Calculate wealth by GDP per capita and it changes things.

How the hell they manage to calculate happiness is anyone's guess. Given the state of our two football clubs they obviously didn't ask too many Sheffielders.

When comparing riches,  debt should be compared too.  No good having a lot of money if you owe more than double what you've got.

Germany is not up to her ears in debt.   We are.

One of the most important factors in immigration into any country is the percentage of the population that they comprise. More people require more facilities. Hospitals, schools, houses etc, providing the immigrants are working and paying taxes the problem isn't unsurmountable.

Germany currently has immigrants comprising 8.8% of its population,  and a higher percentage of those 5,7% from outside the EU than other countries.

By comparison the UK has an immigrant population of 6.6% of which 3,9% are from outside the EU.

Ireland has an 11.3% immigrant population only 3.1% of whom are from outside the EU and a fair number of them are British.

Countries differ in their attitude to immigrants and in many cases they're welcomed as contributing to the wealth and prosperity of the host nation.

Luxemburg and Switzerland being examples in this link. And the richest country in the world has an immigrant population of 97.1%

Well I'm pretty sure that the 97.1% don't live there permanently

They're probably wealthy people that are purely there for tax reasons like Lewis Hamilton

And I doubt that the vast majority didnt turn up with nothing more but a new iPhone 15 and Nike Air Jordan trainers

Lewis Hamilton doesn't live in Ireland, he lives in the second richest country in the world Luxemburg. That is of course if you only use GDP per capita.

https://www.gfmag.com/global-data/economic-data/richest-countries-in-the-world

However, if you use actual total wealth then America is the richest country in the world and if California was a country it would be the sixth richest country in the world.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_total_wealth

Native Americans only make up 2.9% of the population.

As I said in post #7075 it all depends on how you measure things.

The UK printed 3,000,000 visas in the last 12 months, our Conservative Government have actually encouraged immigration.

As You can see above you did not mention Luxemburg. You said that he lived in the wealthiest country in the world in response to my post # 7078, where I pointed out that the wealthiest country in the world has an immigrant population of 97.1% .  I was referring somewhat tongue in cheek to America.   Luxemburg has an immigrant population of 43.5%

Using the GNP per capita method which is the method which places Luxemburg above most countries including the USA I simply pointed out that in fact Ireland is currently number one by that method and he doesn't live there.  Understand?

Well since we voted to leave Europe they need to get the cheap workforce from somewhere else

They have no motivation to get the 3 million unemployed back to work
