A lot of 'coulds' in that article.  There are still a lot of those big Dutch lorries on UK roads delivering to garden centres and flower shops.

Far more likely they "upped sticks" to Portugal in 2019, because they were fully aware it would be far, far harder, considerably more expensive, and there would be a chance they wouldn't be able to at all... if they left it any longer.

 

 Clearly, "friends" might have been an overstatement here. 🙄

How many is "a lot"? 🤣

 

EU imports and exports are down significantly, safe to assume less than there used to be...

Enough to keep supplying all the UK garden centres and flower shops that want plants and flowers from the Netherlands.

I have seen people make garden furniture from old pallets, they are really desperate  :)
