I even had pictoral instructions somewhere, I'll see if I can find them! Well yes, that’s why I said masks need to be used in conjunction with hand sanitising and social distancing (not as a substitute). Plenty of people don’t though and think they are ‘safe’ and/or being responsible protecting others just because they are wearing a mask.

Not worn under your chin, and constantly fiddled with, touching your face in the process. Aaargh!!!!!!!

I was up at St James today (2.30ish) and it did seem a little busy, 4 in the queue in front of me at Wilkos, took a couple of mins to get in 🤷♂️ Went down to Morrisons afterwards, no queues, no shortage of stock. Jim117
We used the previous few months of relative calm to gradually stock up on stuff. Wonder if the current batch of bogroll bandits are the same cretins that ignored the rules and made the second lockdown inevitable.

People with big family's get nervous over lockdowns, It's quite natural for people to stock up on what they think is essentials.

If they have had the money to spend, they should have already built up stocks of essentials. After all, it's the second lockdown, so they know what it's all about. Most people I know already have, as the situation worsened over the last few weeks. If they haven't had the money, it's likely that they still won't have, so won't be panic buying now. catmiss
‘Panic buying’ and ‘stocking up’ is not only governed by income but also by housing- people living in overcrowded households or one bedroomed flats etc have limited storage space. In addition those on low incomes are less likely to have access to cars to carry bulk buys home
