Not everyone has the strength and ability to carry heavy bags of shopping or bulky items all the way down to the "multitude of parking spaces"? so they will shop elsewhere where they can park.  Sadly we are not all fit young things any longer but thankfully don't qualify for a disabled badge either. Please think of others before posting accusing people of being bone idle.

Sadly, we need pavement space to practice social distancing. Fortunately there is a big car park directly above the lost spaces at Broomhill, with an elevator I believe.

This is not the situation in Broomhill.

Shoppers who use the carpark would  go up the stairs, up in the lift or up the ramp or they can walk to their cars as before as there has been no change in the number of parking spaces.

The road side footway has been reinstated with the removal of the flower containers and a pseudo zebra crossing at each end.

Let’s hope you never sustain any impaired mobility problems. Talk about a selfish attitude...

How so? The blue badge spaces are still available, and the car above is accessible via an elevator, with many more spaces than those which were in front of the shops.

Is an elevator not accessible to those with reduced mobility who are not eligible for a blue badge?

What about your utter disregard for those who need to social distance because of underlying health issues. Talk about a selfish attitude...

Broomhill parking spaces and newly re introduced roadside footway are now closed, Shop side foot way still open.

Take a walk on a Saturday afternoon, would be impossible to keep a distance from pedestrians and shop queues.

Add every weekday lunchtime and every teatime between 3.15 and 6 and ever 30 minutes in the hour as the students come and go. The hundreds of bus passengers arriving and departing every  other minute.  Oh and a percentage of the thousands of school children attending the nurseries, primaries and 5 secondaries .  Workers from the hospitals come for their

Both footways are too narrow for social distancing further restricted by shop advertising and vans and cars parking over the kerb.

Which is  more important a few cars or the potential health of thousands?
