RJRB
As David Lammy has said, why it is about time that past reports were acted upon. Johnson has a lot of ground to catch up on as far as day to day casual slurs are concerned. https://www.businessinsider.com/boris-johnson-record-sexist-homophobic-and-racist-comments-bumboys-piccaninnies-2019-6?r=US&IR=T

Has the fear of wasting money ever prevented British governments from doing what they choose ?
ECCOnoob
I'm slightly confused as to what exactly they are looking into. We already have an Equalities Commission ever since the introduction of the Act. We already have multiple non-government organisations, charities, subdivisions and quangos. What the hell have they been doing all this time? Besides it's not like I have seen anyone in the government disagreeing with the subject of the protests just the methods. If the argument instead is that voices are not being heard loud enough then surely some blame needs to be pointed at those organisations listed above and questions should be raised as to what they are doing for their money. All seems to me like Lammy wanting to get his profile out there again. Must be at least 5 minutes since he was last Twitter trending. Because while we're all in this together (some of us more so than others) we're not allowed to criticise this government for anything. I'm surprised you didn't you know that. What the hell have they been doing all this time? Producing reports that governments ignore. It's standard government procedure when faced with a difficult social problem to announce and inquiry to shut people up for several months and quietly drop the issue once it's no longer got the public's attention. If the argument instead is that voices are not being heard loud enough then surely some blame needs to be pointed at those organisations listed above and questions should be raised as to what they are doing for their money. They can't force governments to implement their recommendations.
Ridgewalk
Tory bigwigs virtually all Public School educated. Eton educated types wanting an enquiry into inequality. You couldn't make it up. Presumably Johnson and his ilk must think they are where they are through sheer brilliance.

Being a bang average Classics student, and writing second rate books are both vital qualities for a PM. That’s why he’s doing such a brilliant job.
