Need some where to take some one special to - a starry night sky

Recommended Posts

If you want to see stars (i.e the Milky Way)you really need to get out of England - West wales, Northwest scotland etc. If you don't want to travel too far, i'd say travel North and position yourself somewhere in the middle of saddleworth moor, but you are still going to miss most stars due to urban glow from Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield etc.

Also, check the moon, and don't go out on a full or gibbous moon. And give yourself at least 30 minutes of darkness to let your eyes acclimatise.
