If so, this looks like another poor decision - I wonder who made it?

You should volunteer your services.

I’m sure that a forward thinking, reflective, intelligent, inclusive person such as yourself would be brilliant at transforming the iconic building.

You are wasted on here, putting silly smiley faces into half arsed posts. Get stuck in man.

Your attempt at wit fails to impress me.

Didn't they run out of money when doing Parkhill ?

Cashflow issues over 10 years ago, I believe. Not sure that's of much relevance to today.

From the info and renders I've seen, it looks like a good proposal, partly an indoor shopping area.

Certainly a good proposal if it's done well.

It may even get people like me & my family to start coming back to town again.

possibly.

do you have any better ideas?

(which is something that's often missing from our inclination to criticise)

edit i should obviously include myself in that - i share your concerns. I'm glad it's not me that has been asked to come up with  a use for that building!

Hopefully not. That's up to the people of Sheffield to a large extent.

Other cities, Newcastle for example, have indoor shopping in their city centres and they always look busy, despite having the same CAZ, parking charges, one way road systems etc that Sheffield has.
