The power of the state used to crush someone who made a totally stupid decision when she was 15 years old, still a child, another three years before she became an adult.

Makes you proud.

This was a terrific opportunity to use her case as a powerful deterrent to other young impressionable Muslim girls. She should have been welcomed back, making the state look magnanimous and caring toward its citizens, the exact opposite of the malignant misogynistic loathsome medieval place she found herself in.

She could have been interviewed and help expose what is obviously child abuse disguised as religious righteousness. We should have made use of her coming to her senses as a weapon against future repeats of her behaviour.

It would have been a win win situation, the country looks grown up civilised and caring toward its people from whatever background and gets to use the situation for our own purposes.

But no, let's show how tough we are when it comes to the actions of daft kids, that'll show em  🙄

Hmmm, we won't allow a British citizen home but we will allow 1000s of military aged men to come live here?

That makes sense 🙄

Yes it does make sense.

She's not British anymore and she took herself off to join a terrorist group and we all know that everyone doesn't like would be terrorists coming to this country.

"Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr said: "It could be argued the decision in Ms Begum's case was harsh. It could also be argued that Ms Begum is the author of her own misfortune.

"But it is not for this court to agree or disagree with either point of view.

"Our only task is to assess whether the deprivation decision was unlawful. We have concluded it was not, and the appeal is dismissed."

Unanimous decision by all 3 judges.  That's good enough for me.  Let her stay & rot in Syria.

Three of our judges putting the safety of the British public above the rights of Islamic terrorists; are we seeing the return of common sense at last? The problem is, this country is so infested with these medieval, religious fascists that she'd be just another drop in the ocean. The question isn't should she be allowed back but how did we get to this situation in the first place?

Has this actually happened to others that went over to fight?  or is it just because she's quasi-famous that we're hearing so much about her.

Over 1,000 people have been stripped of their UK citizenship between 2010 & 2022 for various reasons, so Begum will be amongst them.

You'll have to do your own research as to how many were fighting abroad for terrorist organisations?

Begum just decided she wanted to be a cause celebre.
