You have proof of that?

First and Stagecoach offer quite reasonable rates for the job but have both failed to factor in the downside of working in Sheffield and there isnt enough money in the world to compensate staff for that. TM pay peanuts because quite simply if you are applying to them you probably have been sacked from everywhere else and will take what you can get. I have heard a rumour that the shortage at TM follows a visit to check up on the DBS checks on some of their staff but that is unsubstantiated so far. I do know of 2 there that would fail though.

I've encountered one or two good ones on the 30 when visiting a friend at the Hallamshire. Great drivers.

One older driver seems to think it's Ok to regularly leave Commercial St 8-9 minutes early though. Totally unacceptable.

The 218 to Bakewell last Friday. The 11 am from Abbeydale Rd South,  took off at 1047am. Absolutely appalling,  then on the 1130am  service bloke was effing and blinding as he drove too. Disgraceful behaviour.

On way back, neither 1540 or 1550 turned up til 1618. Shameful.

Timetable shows 1540 & 1550 as School holiday run times.

The one that turned up at 1618 will be the 1620, so 2 mins early.

Buses are tracked by Traffic Commissioner so running extremely early is detrimental as it can ultimately cost a company their operators licence.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen from time to time but the TC does deal with it.

For future reference however, the time of departure on most stops (except time-points) is an estimated time of DEPARTURE. Having been on many buses, a lot of passengers seem to think it's the time they themselves should arrive at the bus stop to board.

If you were on the 1100 to Bakewell, how did you catch the 1130??
