Do you really think they would have the time to look in to that for a random member of the public? Not to mention such a query would be thorned with confidentiality/commercial sensitivity. There may be snippets of information on the RMT website if you are really interested.

I never said that. What grade they are is between them, their employer and the RMT. It differs to a Senior Conductor grade, which is what @Big Al confused them with.

@sheffbag I would be interested to know what lines of work you have worked in, as you seem to be keen to dismiss that operational transport workers can be senior and reqiure qualifications.

You asked what grade was as a TM, not what grade a TM is in general. Backtracking...

Don't be so ridiculous there is no secrecy about grades

Neither a senior conductor or a Train Manager is regarded as senior management by anyone apart from you

No point asking others when you regard your own position as top secret

Only because you gave the impression you had been a Train Manager but perhaps even that was not within your experience

The title manager is often used to give the holder a sense of importance and allow them to strut their stuff as a "manager". In all reality they are a guard / ticket collector with an inflated title.

I've long campaigned for some recognition for SF posters....

It would be nice to be given some sense of importance when posting...

A Forum expert would be a nice title to have, followed by Forum Specialist, then Forum Genius.

LP is already regarded as a SF expert, but has not had it officially confirmed.

Nope. once again a false post. I was challenging your claim when you pulled up teh description for an apprentice Train Manager role and claimed that because they needed a  CIEH level 2  cert that was an indication that it was a senior role.

"Note that Food Hygeine CIEH qualifications are also required as driving commercial performance to meet revenue targets. Does it still sound like an un-senior role to you?"

I then demonstrated that you need the same certificate to  be a Waiter, a Kitchen assistant and a warehouse operative chopping up meat and packing it by using your own quoted source (Indeed) and saying that those roles are not senior yet require the same qualification. Dont forget that the CIEH is the ONLY qualification required on the job spec that you quoted so it is the only parameter to measure against, After all, to quote you, "Experience is no replacement for qualifications " so you have no other barometer to claim it is a senior role

Since you asked i will answer, unlike yourself i have no reason to hide or create fake jobs on my employment cv. To summarise

Technical and Quality Manager for a 100+ staff polymer company manufacturing items for the likes of JCB, Rolls Royce and the MoD. started as lab tech and rose up through company heading up a team of lab tech directly under my management. Studied to degree level in Polymer Design and Technology. Forklift licence, First Aid at work, ISO 9002 external assessor amongst other work related qualifications during my ten + years there

Project engineer for a mechanical company for a year after that acting as a seals specialist using my polymer knowledge and also internal ISO QA.

Last 20 or so years worked in the transport industry for both public and private companies as both a Project officer progressing to Project Manager and now run a commercial office. Qualified in Prince 2, MoR, ISO auditing, Office Management and other work related qualifications. About to start AAT training for my own personal education

I am more than qualified in the roles i have held and have the experience to know what I'm talking about. I don't hide my jobs and have multiple non descript vague jobs where i don't actually ever say what i do but if challenged immediately try to deflect or ignore unlike yourself LP.

So @LovePotion , you asked, i replied. What about you?. I've shown you my degree, lets see your two diplomas and are you willing to say what jobs you have had? doubt it.

And then there was silence !

whilst LP was  a mere un-fertalized egg I was a full time consultant to BR working at all levels from Chairman and Managing Directors and  “senior management “ daily and did a lot of work on the subject of flexible rostering during the 1982 dispute but my meetings with train crews was restricted to when I was traveling by train and chatting with them during the journey

You have not shown your degree. I see no attachments in this thread.

I haven't ignored anything, I have been out this afternoon, having a wonderful time.

At least he knows what he is talking about. Unlike you.

indeed 1982 was a long time ago but I learned an awful lot about rostering then because of the strikes and my involvement working for the BR Board.
