RollingJ
Fair enough, @busdriver1. As I very rarely paid by cash for my journeys - used daily/weekly tickets or later ENCTS, I didn't experience it, but thinking back, the posted requests did say 'pay by card IF POSSIBLE', so my apologies for getting it wrong. 😉

1295galaxy
Everyones been happy with £2 cap on bus fares, but now in January were going to get another price on our Poor & Unreliable Bus Service,Hope we get another protest now about the poor bus service and some action taken to stop First & Stagecoach putting up prices all the time, but we will get more cars on the roads now and less people wanting to catch buses now because of the bus ticket prices going up,so buses will be less reliable again but do the Bus companies realise this no they don"t

AFAIK, single journey tickets are £2.00 (Adult) until some time late next year, so 'First & Stagecoach' won't be 'putting up prices all the time'.

There are some areas where there were Europeans driving buses but most of them stayed here so even then no effect. 3 minutes ago, RollingJ said: What are you on about? Those rises are the multi-operator tickets which are run by TravelMaster, a separate entity. The most recent price rises, beginning of November 2023 were also by TravelMaster. Those were increasing 80p child fare to £1 & the withdrawal of the 18-21 Concessions scheme of which the operators decided to offer a new discounted rate that whilst is higher that when operated by TravelMaster, wasn't an obligated choice which is why smaller operators such as TM Travel/Cawthornes etc elected to opt out. 45 minutes ago, RollingJ said: What are you on about? The fare cap was originally due to end this year however it was extended initially to June 2024 then revised to 31/12/24. It is expected that at the end of 2024 there will be a rise on the cap to £2.50 however it is still being discussed as to whether that will happen and for how long. This is all perfectly available information on popular search engines. Even Bing. But then this is all coming from someone who can't wrap their heads around time-points, one of the most simplest concepts out there.....
