The operator of that service ( Stagecoach) were on the brink of collapse and had to be taken over by National Express. Is that enough profit for you? It's being held by an investigation by the CMA however they say it's really just a formality and not expected to prevent the merger from happening by the end of 2022 as initially planned. CMA are involved due to the overlap of the coach side of the businesses as Stagecoach own MegaBus.

Stagecoach have preemptively sold Megabus with this in mind and also to release funds to tide them over.

Had other things to do, so not caught up on 'hobbies'. 1 hour ago, busdriver1 said: Stagecoach have preemptively sold Megabus with this in mind and also to release funds to tide them over. I did know that - plus other 'outside' interests?

Add that myth to the list along with "streets councillors live on get priority for gritting" and "councillors earn a fortune" No, but the people making the decisions that affect us do. Should have done their homework properly on the East Coast Mainline, then maybe they wouldn't need tiding over.
