St Petre
When the Hyde Park flats were being occupied -1963-66 era- and a sudden influx of young kids, where did most of them go to school, was there a school within the complex ?
Flanker7
I'm not completely sure as I wasn't there in the begining but later and for many years the local kids went to St Johns Primary School on nearby Manor Oaks Road behind the dog track. I've had a look on 'google maps' and theres some of the playground left amongst the debris.
jane2008
I lived on Hyde Park from '76 and haven't heard of a school within the complex and can't imagine where it would be sited. The younger children went to St Johns and the older pupils a mixture of Hurlfield, Waltheof and norfolk Park. My niece went to a nursery on Park Hill flats that could have been part of a school, I can't remember, she left the flats before starting a school
