Grimesthorpe Part 3

I've been on here before with dad who was Bill Hayes of grimesthorpe rd, up to 1960.

I've recently remarried and guess what.

Father-in-law ( dennis stanley)was from petre st.

 motherinlaw (freda plant) was from cyclops st.

We are both proud to be part of the old grimesthorpe crowd.

Did Dennis Stanley once work for  Tupholmes sheet metal on Carwood Road ?

Yes he did.

He's sat next to me now.

13 and a half years he says.

Started at tupholms from school.

Does he recall (from Tupholmes) Malcolm Neatby, (who was from Mexbrough), Dennis Manterfield, and a lad from Kingston Street, last name Ashforth who wore a wig even as a young man ?
