No decent electrician would be working for the council. Too much money to be made elsewhere for skilled, knowledgeable and quick tradespersons. bassett one
i agree ,but sometimes a younger say 20 ish or say 25 with a young family may not be in a position to gamble on self employment, but this doesnt answer the question of what council pay electricans in sheffield/chesterfield. Although, its certinly not quite a simple as the position the electrician was claiming to BassetOne in the OP. "potential to earn..... .....with bonus scheme" is certainly not the same as simply boasting "they pay £8k more..." After all, I have seen lots of multi-level marketing type jobs, sales jobs, contractor jobs, agency work which scream in big letters "Potential" earnings of £30k, £50k, £100k with bonus - but that means nothing. Would still be curious to see what Chesterfield Borough Council base pay is, the comparator with Sheffield CC and how many of those qualified electricians reguarly and comfortably reach their bonus target to get maximum pay. bassett one
so its sorted oneway or another sheffield pay lower wages ,so cant blame the lad or anyone else every wage packet counts especially as hes got a young family,so with other councils offering more money, sheffield will find it hard to replace there ageing staff.
