Indeed, as you continue to prove... every day :?

Cool story bro...

Some reading for you:

https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/amendment-14/section-3/

That's gunna be a problem for Trump :?

Not really.

The Senate has already Acquitted Trump on the charge of "incitement" at the latest Pelosi Impeachment Trial.  :)

Trump said: "I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.".

Over to you, Kamila Harris, on Colburt:

On the Black Lives Matter protests"

She refers to "that 'force', at least there would be some 'counterforce' to the status quo, which is so reluctant to change, even hostile to change, that's what these movements do, that where these systems are so invested and ingrained in what they call tradition,  but is status quo, often which can be wrong headed, these movements provide a 'counterforce' to get us to where we need to be.

"I know there are protests still happening in major cities across the United States, I'm just not seeing the reporting on it that I had for the first few weeks," Colbert said.

"That's right," Harris replied, smiling,. "But they're not gonna stop. They're not gonna stop, and this is a movement, I'm telling you."

"They're not gonna stop, and everyone beware, because they're not gonna stop," she added. "They're not gonna stop before Election Day in November, and they're not gonna stop after Election Day."

"Everyone should take note of that, on both levels, that they're not going to let up — and they should not. And we should not," she concluded.

She mentions "fighting", "force", and "counterforce", but never mentioned or condemned the violence and anarchy that these protests turned into.

Just a smile, a "warning" and an  "urging"!

It's all about getting Trump a criminal conviction to stop him standing in 2024.

After 6 years he still puts the fear of god in socialists, communists, islamists, globalists, and global warmists.

Fun to watch!  :)

There's no need for that any more. Trump recently promised to pardon those involved in the 6th Jan insurrection attempt if he wins next time[1]. The disqualification clause of the US constitution Magilla linked to contains:

Quote

or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof

Difficult to argue that offering to pardon those attacking the Capitol wouldn't count as giving aid or comfort to them.

[1] If you're still claiming they were ANTIFA or some other false flag attack, you might want to explain why he would offer to pardon them.

Except, it's not up to the Senate

Congress can decide he's disqualified under amendment 14, on a simple majority vote. The Senate has no say in it.

https://www.lawfareblog.com/practical-path-condemn-and-disqualify-donald-trump

"The 14th Amendment does not require the Senate to conclude that Trump engaged in an insurrection. The amendment requires only that Congress conclude that Trump gave aid or comfort to enemies of the Constitution."

Trump has now admitted publicly that he tried to get Pence to overturn a legitimate election, and would pardon the people who stormed the capitol!

Overturning the disqualification requires a two third super-majority vote in both houses... even after the midterms, very unlikely... oh dear! :?

The Makings of a Shattering Constitutional Crisis:

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2022/02/01/biden-trump-constitutional-crisis-00003959

"once he [Trump] announces his presidential campaign, it won’t be possible for him to avoid a confrontation with the 14th Amendment. Before he can run for the Republican nomination in the primaries, he must convince each state’s election authorities that Section 3 doesn’t bar him from the White House."

It seems unlikely he will be able to do that in all 50 states... he can't win if he's barred from being elected in some of them! :?
