Israel-Palestine Conflict.

Recommended Posts

There's a report the leader of Iran's Revolutionary Guard has sort of implied the current phase of the conflict will end very soon.

So we can go back to ignoring the region until the next inevitable  outbreak of violence

We were discussing the Arab - Israeli conflict, its causes and its history.

It's a long story, but I'll try to get you started.

"The Islam religion started with Mohammad in the 7th century, in Saudi Arabia of today. Mohammad included in Islam the idea of jihad (holy war) to spread Islam by the use of force". (Science.co.il/)

It reached its peak in the Arab Empire which included Spain and India.

Since then we've seen religious sectarianism throughout th Middle East, and a never ending series of internecinal wars involving Ottomans, Turks, Arabs, Sunnis, Shias, and more recently Jews. The turmoil continues today.

But, you'll have to do a little homework yourself, OK?

Another joker who thinks he knows about the meaning of Jihad- and only has tinted glasses on.

May be you could do with a simple read.

Thank you for your patronising reply. The spread of Islam has no connection with the Arab-Israeli conflict ... the Romans expelled the Jews from Palestine (or whatever the Romans called the relevent province) some centuries before the birth of Mohammed and such small minorities of Jews as have lived in Muslim lands have generally lived in amity with their rulers (they are a protected by Islamic law). The Arab-Israeli conflict is of modern vintage and its time of origin coincides with massive Jewish immigration to Palestine during the twentieth century.

If the Romans expelled the Jews from Israel or Palastine if you like , then why was Joseph and Mary  along with Jesus (jews) going to pay their taxes in Bethlehem  , you would have thought they would have said  "you can sod that for a lark we don't even live there".

The expulsion, which by the way is the origin of 'the Jewish diaspora', occurred after the Jesus story has finished and was part of a response to a rebellion by the Jewish people. Also part of the response was the destruction of the second temple in Jerusalem.

Yes it's not like good Christian nations indulge in war games.

How long a list would you like

The thing is most Christian nations have grown up and now realise that all these gods are fairy stories so no longer take religion seriously . When kids stop being indoctrinated at birth by  their parents and old men who are not very bright the World will be a much better place for all humanity .

I think carpet bombing civilians is a war crime you are proposing.

You do realize the Gaza strip is the 4 most densely populated  territory on the planet.

And shooting missiles isn't a war crime?

Ah! The BBC!  Lol

In other words, like all religions, it is subject to interpretations. (check with your local Imam)

But the Big Question is:

Why are the Muslims always fighting each other?

Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Afghanistan, Algeria, Lebanon, Chad, Sudan, Somalia. Eritrea, Oman are constantly at war.

That is some "religion of peace", Lol

Here's Quora's answer: (https://www.quora.com)

"Islam was spread by conquest, so rival Muslim cliques were fighting each other from the outset."
