Charity ball/casino party - advice needed!

Hiya,

I'm organising a private event to raise money for charity by hosting a casino party. I'm having trouble finding casino equipment for hire in the area that isn't extortionately over-priced! Does anyone have any ideas? Also interested in chocolate fountain hire, topiary/plant hire if anyone has any good suppliers they know of they could recommend?

All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

M

Hi there,

It will be raising funds for the Home Farm Trust (hft.org.uk) which is a national charity supporting people with learning difficulties and special needs. They do so much fantastic work - my brother uses their respite and day centre services.

Thanks,

Sarah

If your thinking of putting something like this on expect to pay alot for all those services the casino for a start is alot of money any. Because of the price of the tables and man power to use them ( the green cloth on a table can go anywhere from 400-600 pounds if someone spills a drink on them ) maybe set your sites a little lower unless you can get someone to back you

Hi Cavellsuk,

I've hosted this sort of thing before in the South and it barely cost a penny as I had equipment donated and my family and friends worked as the croupiers so I'm not after a full service from a company, just access to equipment (roulette wheel, the felt table lays etc) as manpwer etc is already sorted.

Thanks,

Sarah

Have u tried contacting the actual casinos and see if they can help u out with either hiring/loaning of their equipment, or hiring out a function room ?

I know where u can get a cheap chocolate fountain. It's only around 20-25 quid from TK Maxx at the moment.

As for topiaries, what about approaching a friendly florist for them on loan ? Or any other garden centres or the likes of B&Q ?

Of course, u need to make it worth their while, and maybe advertise their names or whatever on the actual tickets or something.
