Many thanks There’s nothing wrong with putting used parts into your car on the proviso that they are guaranteed, give AutoVillage a try before making up your mind. Many thanks Try P&L Minis, 34 High St. Thurnscoe. 01709 889922 I have no idea what they stock but has to be worth a telephone call. All the best with the restoration. Shame 101 motors Albert Rd is no longer there.

The show circuit has been as devastated by Cori V as everything else. like minded enthusiasts arn't on every street corner, neither is finding £50 Classic cars parked on someones drive any more, them days have gone (shame). Joining a Club is a good idea but the question was where to find spares / advice. Thurnscoe's not that far from Sheff (phone calls even closer). Keep safe. the_bloke
https://rimmerbros.com/SubCategory--Rover-Mini-Car-Parts--m-12436 Rimmer Bros in Lincoln. Been a long time since I've had something considered 'classic' but they were brilliant. There was a time they even sold full Mini bodyshells via BMH. Rockers rule
Wow. Just looked on Google maps at what used to be 101 motors Mini Specialists. (the round corner building Corner of Albert Rd and Shirebrook Rd.) Brian's back yard sure has changed. Daft thing is we had a drive down there t'other week & didn't notice the flats. MEC176
Before my son decided to do this restoration I showed him pictures I had of my 1968 Red Mini then hand brushed green and black Mini turn the key and press the starter solenoid on the floor fish for the gears and off you go, modified a bit when I had the cash, but no furry dice, it went when one morning going to work I jumped in and the drivers seat went through the floor the floor pan gave way. We had a scrap yard called Gedneys in Hemmingfield where you walked passed the chained up guard dog said hello to old man Gedney and rummaged over all sorts of classics I think I was the only one with Jaguar Petrol, temperature and oil pressure gauge on my dash board thirty pound a mini he would pay for scrap Mini's worth a fortune today. Any way so he had a plan but so far the job list is getting longer and the pocket deeper. Never mind --- thanks to all for your help. Had a couple of Minis (probably why I moved on to bigger things) (mostly Zephyrs) Bit like your self, 1st one, a 1966 Austin badged black one I quickly hand painted Blue. Wave it about a bit, hope its meshed into something when you let the clutch out Magic Wand gear leaver, sliding windows and pull cord door handles. (strange how starter buttons made a come back) Then swapped it for a red one Brian (101 motors) had built for his brother who then didn't want it. Brian had fitted a 1100 engine in it, twin carbs, 4 branch, & bucket seats that shot back leaving you looking at the headlining on quick getaways. While we're reminiscing hope all your gauges remained in place when the inevitable engine head steady gave way many a time did i end up with the speedo on my lap Once went to Brian's & came back with a 2CV 6 Citroen (he took my lads push bike as payment) Happy Daze. Best of luck with the restoration
