Tram Crash

Recommended Posts

Went to catch tram from middlewood an hour and a half after the accident and the dot matrix made no mention of any crash or disruption to the service. The clue was that the time of the next tram was 17 minutes, the second one  18 minutes both allegedly going to Meadowhall and the destination on the tram at the bay saying it was going to Cathedral. Asked the conductor and she told me that the tram was leaving in 3 minutes.

once again just when you need information information on the dot matrix it is worse than useless. At least at middlewood we could ask the crew of the waiting tram.

Information is really bad. Even hour after it happened I took one from attercliffe to meadowhall and there were 60 people waiting for a tram to town at meadowhall. They had not been told about the crash and trams stop woodbourne rd.

Even when I was waiting at attercliffe it took me 15 minutes before reading that small print on bottom of led info screen to figure out there was a problem and when it came I was only person on it.

Got turned round from the scene involving a Bradwell Skips lorry shortly after the occurrence just after midday Friday . . . Missed the resulting chaos . . . However, after recording and speed scanning state TV's Look North and so-called Independent TV's puerile Calendar prog some 5 hours later, Hey Presto ! - ABSOLUTELY ZERO COVERAGE of an extremely serious and relevant LIGHT RAIL occurrence at a busy, light controlled city junction . . . This is a junction where there are NO PEDESTRIAN INDICATORS and road traffic frequently ignores (or gets confused with) the in-situ protocols . . . Let us hope that the Rail Accident Investigation Branch is able to prevail upon the relevant authorities to initiate the relevant SAFETY PROCEDURES at this very dangerous Light Rail / Road Traffic / Foot Traffic interface in order to obviate the likelihood of possible future fatalities . . .

No bad injuries and Tramlines probably answers your concern for little publicity just another accident to the media.
