After an incredibly challenging 18 months we are delighted to be able to announce the return of the Sheffield International Concert Season to Sheffield City Hall.

Tickets for the Sheffield International Concert Season 2021/22 go on general sale at 10am on Monday 6 September 2021 online from www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk.

The first half of the 2021/22 Season will feature 4 shows and will be launched with the Hallé, our resident orchestra, on Friday 15 October with Dvorak’s Ninth Symphony, ‘From the New World’ and Barber’s Violin Concerto performed by James Ehnes. The Hallé return on Wednesday 3 November with the Hallé Artist in Association, Ryan Wigglesworth, conducting a programme centred around his Piano Concerto. Customers attending this event on the 3 November are invited to join the Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus and their director Darius Battiwalla  from 9.15pm for a special free After Hours concert taking place in the City Hall Ballroom after the Hallé concert.

On Saturday 27 November the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra under the direction of its Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, Sergey Smbatyan, open this concert with music by native countryman Aram Khachaturian. The Suite was put together by the composer himself and the concert features three of the five movements, including the famous Waltz.

Saturday 18 December 2021 brings two musical forces, the Black Dyke Band & Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus together once again for Sheffield City Hall’s annual Christmas Concert - featuring family favourites and sing-along carols, a festive celebration not to be missed.
