Any bright sparks got any tips on where to look,

time to look out, for the meteor shower?

I hear you have to look like north once it’s dark?

Dark is certainly best😀

I don’t think there is any particular direction to look in, from memory they appear all over the place. The best time is when the sky is really dark. At this time of year that means after midnight if you can.

Try to find a dark place with a wide field of vision. Sorry I can’t be more precise than that.

The Perseid meteorite eaks between 01.00am and 03.30am tonight.

Start looking towards the South, South East two thirds of the way up, but they can be anywhere.

When you see the first one, follow its trail backward and hopefully you will find the source from which they all appear to start from.

I've traipsed out into Derbyshire for some dark skies to look at meteor showers in the past. Got to say, very underwhelming, but then I didn't really know what to expect with the naked eye.

Maybe those Derbyshire dark skies aren't dark enough?
