RJRB Posted October 25, 2021 Share Posted October 25, 2021 The consumer always pays at the pump irrespective of the market prices.If the oil companies have bought forward at advantageous prices then its extra profit.If not then any increase is paid for by the consumer. This also applies to whatever their currency position is for a dollar related commodity. Then of course prices rise rapidly but reduce very gradually when the market turns.
