But these days almost everyone receives some form of Government benefit, minimum wage, holiday pay or tax credits. The Labour party has helped the poor massively, to the point where the only true deprivation is inflicted by poor parenting or lifestyle abuse. Given that he said "Let the bodies pile high" during the height of the pandemic, I wouldn't put anything past that ****ty louse. Cancer touches the lives of many millions of people in this country, and his blatant disregard for them is disgraceful. However, I fully expect his supporters to stick their fingers in their ears and go 'la la la - we're not hearing you, we don't want to know - la la la'. I don't even know if it was reported on the BBC news on the TV, it's not on their website. Had it been Kier Starmer or Jeremy Corbyn who had made such comments, the media would be in a frenzy, especially the BBC. alchresearch
She's made herself look a fool again on Twitter. The Conservative page posted this with the title "we're on our way to Manchester" She posted: Quote You do know that train doesn’t go to Manchester don’t you? Manchester is in the North West, not on the East Coast mainline. I know you lot think we’re all the same up here but can you try not to confuse each side of the Pennines at least But she didn't realise Boris was going to Leeds first.... The general public have no idea until they come up against it for themselves, (which they well might in the future, no one is immune from ill fortune.) We see it on here when unemployed people are described as 'benefit scroungers' 'workshy' 'jobdodgers' etc, with no thought for their individual predicaments, which may include illness, disability and worse. No experience, no compassion, no understanding, We have barely moved on in terms of the public mindset from Victorian workhouses and punitive punishment for the crime of not having a job, aided and abetted by the gutter press and media. The number of people who have committed suicide after wrestling with the system is large and growing. Edited October 4, 2021 by Anna B

If that's true, I agree, it's not a great strategy, nit-picking to make Boris look bad, totally comes across as desperate and petty. Especially, when you consider, you don't have to do much of anything to make him look bad, he's doing a cracking job of that all by himself. alchresearch
Sadly it seems to be a daily occurrence. The best one is when she gets on her high horse about Tory donors and donations, when she isn't immune to cashing in: She's at it today: "The Tories should give back the money that they have taken from their “alleged” tax dodging mates." With replies reminding her about Blair's big cash saving and this: Unions criticise Starmer over offering wealthy donors “invite-only strategy updates” https://www.union-news.co.uk/unions-criticise-starmer-over-offering-wealthy-donors-invite-only-strategy-updates/ Even Labour's favourite poster boy Marcus Rashford is in on the old tax avoidance. Guest sibon
I’m waiting for the Dominic Raab remix of this thread. The one about the Justice Secretary being unfit for office. Maybe it’s better to be rude than it is to be nicely spoken and thick as a plank. Edited October 6, 2021 by sibon
