Have read in the Sunday press that all the soccer players and pundits who back taking the knee ect will not boycott the Qatar world cup with their

record of racist and ill treatment of foreign workers building the stadiums for the world cup, think double standards here.

They are hypocrites.

As for the whole "take a knee" stuff, that's just pointless virtue signalling. People pay through the nose to watch football. They don't pay to see a bunch of rich footballers ramming a political message down their throats. No wonder there's so much booing when these football players do it.

Its shocking, I mean what do newly rich, young working class black men know about racism? You tell them where they're going wrong!

Why should any professional footballer talented enough to be selected  to play in a World Cup boycott the event in Qatar?

Regarding Qatar as a host it was a ludicrous decision by FIFA to give the World Cup to such a small country where the new stadiums built will not benefit many people.

Let us hope that no brown envelopes got passed around in the decision to have the World Cup in the most unsuitable place on Earth/

But they did didn't they?  Wasn't it this bidding process that a load of the African representatives were bribed?

The Government was also accused of directly bribing Fifa.

I seem to remember Japan also bidding for this, part of their bid involved them developing holographic and 3D streaming technology to show the games in real time at stadiums around the world.

Qatar on the other hand offered an extreme climate, had no suitable stadiums and a pretty patchy history on human rights and support of Islamic extremist groups.
